We are seeking a Head of Policy & Governance to lead regulatory compliance and governance initiatives across multiple jurisdictions. This senior role is critical in shaping, implementing, and maintaining robust compliance frameworks, ensuring the business operates at the highest standards. Reporting to the Director of Policy & Governance, this position requires independent judgment, strategic thinking, and hands-on oversight of company-wide policies.

about the role

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct comprehensive gap analyses of gaming laws, regulations, and regulatory guidance across multiple jurisdictions (e.g., MGA, UKGC, Ontario, Denmark, Sweden, Portugal, Spain, Latin America).
  • Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies focused on Marketing, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), and Safer Gambling (SG), aligned with licensing requirements for both B2B and B2C operations.
  • Enhance and continuously improve policy frameworks, ensuring consistency with the company’s governance structure.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to translate policies into practical procedures and ensure effective implementation.
  • Monitor regulatory changes in key jurisdictions and assess their potential impact on business operations.
  • Support licensing expansions by producing compliance documentation and frameworks required for new markets.
  • Take ownership of deliverables, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with regulatory obligations.
  • Assist with external audits and regulatory compliance assessments, providing expert guidance as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in gaming compliance, policy, or regulatory governance, ideally within an international operator or regulator.
  • In-depth knowledge of multi-jurisdictional gaming regulations, including at least three of the following: MGA, UK, Ontario, Denmark, Sweden, Portugal, Spain.
  • Proven ability to conduct regulatory analysis and gap assessments, translating complex requirements into practical policies and risk assessments.
  • Strong track record of drafting and implementing policies at a senior level, particularly in Marketing, AML, and Safer Gambling.
  • Ability to work independently, exercising ownership, accountability, and sound judgment.
  • Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams and senior management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly.
  • Analytical thinking, attention to detail, and high integrity.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience with both B2B and B2C operations in the gaming industry.
  • Legal, compliance, or risk management qualifications (e.g., ICA, ACAMS, or law degree).
  • Experience managing compliance projects for licence applications and policy submissions.
