Our client, a luxury river cruise company, 52 years of service that operate cruises in rivers only in Europe, is seeking for a Payroll Officer in Limassol.

about the role

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Payroll Processing

· Ensure accurate calculation and timely processing of crew wages, including reimbursables and deductibles.

· Validate payroll data such as wage changes, allowances, and deductions.

· Process payroll transactions while adhering to strict deadlines.

2. Employee Records Maintenance

· Maintain up-to-date and accurate employee payroll records, including contracts, banking details, and statutory documents.

· Validate and input data changes such as promotions, terminations, and adjustments to employee pay rates.

3. Reporting & Documentation

· Generate and distribute payroll reports for HR, finance, and management teams.

· Assist in audits by providing necessary payroll-related documentation and reports.

4. Compliance & Reconciliation

· Ensure compliance with internal policies, statutory requirements, and tax regulations.

· Reconcile payroll accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

5. Employee Support

· Address payroll-related inquiries from crew, ensuring a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.

· Provide guidance to crew on payroll issues such as deductions, tax, and reimbursement claims.

REQUIREMENTS

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

· Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing or a related role.

· Strong understanding of payroll systems, calculations, and statutory requirements.

· Familiarity with maritime or hospitality industry payroll is an advantage.

Additional Requirements

· Proficiency in payroll software, Microsoft Excel.

· Knowledge of Cyprus payroll regulations and EU statutory requirements and of Microsoft Business Central Dynamic is preferred.

· Fluent in English (verbal and written); knowledge of additional languages is a plus.

· Must hold an indefinite working permit for Cyprus/EU.

· Willingness to learn and adapt to new payroll systems and processes.
