about the role

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review and analyse requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to ensure they are testable and complete.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Owners and cross-functional team members to understand requirements, clarify acceptance criteria, and sign off on releases.
  • Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases covering functional, integration, regression, and exploratory testing for new and existing features.
  • Ensure adequate test coverage for every feature and product release.
  • Perform end-to-end testing activities including functional, integration, regression, and exploratory testing.
  • Execute API testing using Postman or similar tools to validate system integrations.
  • Write SQL queries to validate data integrity and investigate backend issues.
  • Identify, investigate, and document defects, system issues, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Perform root cause analysis on reported issues and track defects through their full lifecycle.
  • Work closely with developers to reproduce and debug issues throughout the development cycle.
  • Build and maintain test automation frameworks using Playwright (TypeScript).
  • Write clean, maintainable, and reusable automation code following best practices.
  • Participate in sprint standups, planning sessions, and retrospectives.
  • Contribute to improving QA processes, standards, and best practices within the team.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of professional experience as a QA Engineer.
  • Solid understanding of software testing principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Proven experience executing functional, regression, integration, system, and exploratory testing.
  • Experience creating, maintaining, and executing test cases and test plans.
  • Strong ability to identify, document, and troubleshoot software defects.
  • Experience testing web and mobile applications.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum or Kanban environments.
  • Hands-on experience with API testing tools (Postman or similar).
  • Working knowledge of SQL – able to write queries, validate data, and investigate issues.
  • Practical experience building and maintaining test automation frameworks using Playwright, Selenium, or similar.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with automated testing (Playwright, Selenium, Cypress)
  • Experience working with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.
  • Experience with cross-browser and mobile testing.
  • Prior experience with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics AX).
  • Understanding of maritime operations, vessel management, or crewing workflows.
