Our client, a leading IT solutions and services organization in the Eastern Mediterranean region
with offices in Cyprus and Greece is seeking a Systems Administrator in Nicosia (Hybrid) who will have the opportunity to expand their knowledge in systems engineering by participating in large scale and mission critical projects with the assigned team and through the guidance and coaching of the Team Leader and the Solution Architects of the Company.

about the role

RESPONSIBILITIES

•System Administration
o Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, system software, and M365 products.
o Administration of accounts, groups, and workstations for internal users.
• Internal User Support and Helpdesk
o Provide technical support to users, addressing their inquiries and issues promptly.
o Offer training and guidance to users, as needed to enhance their technical proficiency.
• System Performance Monitoring and Maintenance
o Monitor system performance and proactively maintain systems to meet
operational requirements.
o Troubleshoot and resolve issues and outages swiftly to minimize disruptions.
• Network Administration
o Manage network components to ensure uninterrupted connectivity and smooth operation of systems.
o Monitor network performance and address issues promptly.
• Security Management
o Implement and enforce access controls and firewall policies to enhance system security.
o Deploy and maintain backup and replication technologies to ensure system security and data integrity.
• System Upgrades and Enhancements
o Plan and execute system upgrades with new releases and models to keep the infrastructure up-to-date and efficient.
• Documentation and Policy Maintenance
o Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, manuals, and IT policies to ensure clear guidelines for system usage and management.

basic information:

REQUIREMENTS

• University degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a System Administrator or similar role.
• Proficient in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows environments.
• Proficient in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting UNIX/Linux based environments.
• Experience with data backup & recovery technologies.

• Good foundation/understanding of Networking concepts.
• Experience with installing, configuring, and maintaining Datacenter equipment (compute servers, storage systems, switches, firewalls, routers, etc.)
• Experience with virtualization technologies. (Hyper-V, Oracle KVM, ESXi, oVirt).
• Professional certifications from well-established vendors (e.g., Microsoft, Oracle, Cisco, Fortinet, VMWare, HPE) will be considered an advantage.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Greek
• Cloud computing experience will be considered an advantage (Azure, AWS, OCI).

• Knowledge of Java Application Servers will be considered an advantage.
• Experience in scripting will be considered an advantage.
