Job Description

Work Channel Recruitment is working closely with a digital services company and they are looking to recruit a Senior IT Systems/Network Cloud Engineer to join their team.

Job Responsibilities

  • Build and setup new development tools and infrastructure, including among others Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery and Continuous Deployment pipelines
  • Implement and manage cloud infrastructures using “infrastructure as code” practices and tools
  • Manage deployments and operations on Kubernetes clusters
  • Optimize and automate development and release processes for maximum speed and scalability
  • Analyze software deployment and release requirements and provide recommendations.
  • Standardize and harmonize deployment and infrastructure management policies
  • Ensure the availability of managed systems
  • Ensure that safety and security of managed systems
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues
  • Design procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance
  • Direct collaboration with development to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended (proper configuration and release management)
  • Creates, updates, and maintains documentation, diagrams and other detailed instructions.
  • Create tutorials to help end-users use a variety of applications
  • Planning out projects and being involved in project management decisions.
  • Participating in continuing education and training to remain current on best practices

Job Requirements

  • BSc in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field
  • Proven working experience as IT Systems/Network Cloud Engineer or similar role – working in DevOps teams and prior experience with highly scalable systems (cloud)
  • Experience with user acceptance testing and environment troubleshooting
  • Hands-on experience with RESTful services and Microservices Architectures
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies e.g. Google Cloud/ Amazon AWS
  • Strong experience with continuous integration, automation, orchestration, container management and build tools such as GitLab, Jenkins, Ant, Maven, Gradle, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Vagrant, etc.
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Graphite, Grafana and Prometheus or other
  • Experience creating infrastructure as code, including applications/servers’ blueprints, load balancers, networks, and other deployments
  • Expertise in security management in containers and clusters
  • In-depth knowledge of GNU / Linux (Ubuntu/Debian/Centos) and Windows systems
  • Experience with infrastructure scripting solutions such as Shell, PowerShell or Python
  • Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and simplify them
  • Problem solving skills
  • Good time-management skills
  • Team spirit; strong communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken)
