about the role

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage AWS cloud databases: daily support, performance improvements, backups, and replication.
  • Handle migration of large data sets between databases from one premise to Cloud Solutions.
  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining database systems to support business operations.
  • Monitoring database performance and optimizing query performance for efficiency.
  • Implementing and maintaining database security protocols to safeguard sensitive data.
  • Conducting regular backups, replications, and disaster recovery planning to ensure data integrity.
  • Collaborating with software developers and system administrators to troubleshoot database-related issues.
  • Evaluating and recommending database technologies and tools to enhance system performance.
  • Assisting in database capacity planning and scalability efforts to support business growth.
  • Documenting database processes, procedures, and configurations for knowledge sharing and compliance purposes.
  • Providing technical support and guidance to users on database-related matters.
  • Staying informed about industry trends and best practices in database management and fintech.

basic information:

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of proven experience as a Database Administrator or similar role in the financial services sector.
  • Experience with AWS will be considered as an advantage.
  • Strong proficiency in database management systems, such as MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server.
  • Knowledge of database security principles and best practices.
  • Experience with database performance tuning and optimization techniques.
  • Familiarity with database backup, replication and recovery procedures.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Certification in relevant database technologies (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) is a plus.
